I've heard the cherry trees have already started to bloom in Washington D.C. and my own daffodils have buds, so I can't complain about being tired of winter. But I know some of you are still snowbound and longing for a breath of spring air. By February, most spring blooming trees and shrubs have experienced a suitable period of cold dormancy and are just waiting for a little warmth to break out into a spring dance. You can wake them up early, with a little nudging.
